Séance 404 helps you find something to watch off the beaten track. Two screens:

• Find a film: a film drawn at random from lesser-known but highly rated films, or from your watchlist, with its synopsis and where to watch it legally.
• Duel: two films, one question. Which one is more popular?

Where the data comes from

• Films, synopses, genres, posters, ratings and popularity: TMDB. In the duel, a film's popularity is its number of votes on TMDB. This site uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
• Where to watch: legal offers (United States and United Kingdom in English, Belgium and France in French) provided by JustWatch through TMDB; free copies on Internet Archive.
• Your profile: only the export you make yourself on Letterboxd and import here.

Séance 404 is not affiliated with Letterboxd. It uses none of its data: it only links to its film pages.

Your data

• No account, no cookies, no analytics.
• Your Letterboxd export is read in your browser and sent nowhere. It is kept in your browser's local storage, along with your draws, your duel streak and your theme; “remove” deletes the profile.
• To show films, your browser contacts TMDB (film details and posters). Fonts are served by the site itself.
